The Maternal and Child Health directorate of the MOHP
concentrates on reducing neonatal and maternal mortality. CHL
cooperates with MOHP and USAID-funded programs focusing on
high-risk regions to improve the quality, effectiveness, and use
of maternal and child health services in public and private
health facilities, as well as increasing knowledge and improving
health behavior in households. By promoting comprehensive
reproductive health care that includes coordination with family
planning, life saving obstetric/perinatal care and other
essential services, the programs strive towards the twin
objectives of reduced fertility and improved maternal and child
health. |
